La Cimbali Pitagora

In 1962 La Cimbali’s Pitagora machine won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award for industrial design. The espresso machine, designed by architect brothers Achille and Pier Ciacomo Castiglione, is the only coffee machine ever to have won the prize. The Pitagora, still a visually striking machine, was an early turn toward the clean lines of modern design, mass production and industrialization.
